I created Petal Sky in October of 2023 on a crisp fall morning high up in the Spanish Pyrenees, hiking alone on the Camino de Santiago. I walked down a steep hill toward a pastel orange and cotton candy pink sunrises I have ever seen.

As I continued walking and taking it all in, James Taylor’s song Gaia came to mind, and the I heard his line “the petal sky and the rosy dawn” in my head. I stopped and took in that moment and I knew in that instant I wanted to remember and celebrate that sacred moment in my life and help others do the same…

and Petal Sky was born.

I have travelled around the world seeking story, ceremony and connection but Martha’s Vineyard is where my heart resides. I am a devoted ceremonialist with deep roots in purposeful ritual and rites of passage. I believe the sacred is found in the most simple everyday experiences and across many traditions in ways that resonate with all of us- like a sunrise.

It is my hope that Petal Sky will inspire others to incorporate the beauty of meaning, ritual and ceremony into their lives and celebrate the people they love as they journey on their own sacred and unique path.
